Homemade skateboards started to appear as early as the 1930s. It wasn’t actually until the 1960s that the skateboard that we know today was introduced. They came out of the California surf culture of the time and were promoted as surfboards for pavement.
Each vintage skateboard has a story to tell, whether they tell of the early skateboarding greats such as Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta or show how skateboarding has evolved throughout the years. A vintage skateboard collection is a prized possession. We at Unplugged are proud to share our unique collection of retro skateboards. So come in and have a browse or purchase yourself piece of skateboard history.
